The 150 MPG Extreme hybrid suv, the XH-150 introduced in January by AFS Trinity Power Corporation, starts a cross country tour on April 8, 2008 to give Americans their first onroad look at what CNN and others suggested may be “the car of the future,” as the XH-150 works its way to Earth Day on the Capitol Mall in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, April 20, 2008.
Halfway through the cross country trip, the XH-150 will be demonstrated on April 11 for Austin Energy, a large municipal utility as well as for the leadership of Plug-in Partners, an Austin headquartered consortium of electric utilities and others supporting the development and introduction of new plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) technologies. AFS Trinity intends to make the XH150 available for selected test drives in several communities from coast to coast.

PDQ introduces the Tandem RiteTouch vehicle wash system. With the widest top brush coverage in the industry, the foam brushes are torque sensitive to monitor the contour of the vehicle and provide low-force cleaning power. The side-profiling, high-pressure wash arms, effectively remove stubborn soil from the vehicle’s surface. Plus, the three stage wheel cleaning system includes chemical application, rotating soft rim scrubbers and high pressure wheel blasters. The key factor to RiteTouch technology is touching the vehicle as little as possible to minimize the potential for vehicle damage, but applying the right amount of touch to produce a superior wash quality.

On December 12, 2002, Toyota Motor Corporation began limited marketing of the hydrogen-powered TOYOTA FCHV (fuel cell hybrid vehicle) in the United States and Japan. Considered to be the closest thing yet to the ultimate eco-car, the TOYOTA FCHV was developed using Toyota’s original hybrid technology—derived from the Prius, the world’s first mass-produced hybrid vehicle—as its core technology.
As R&D on the TOYOTA FCHV continues, the technology that drives it is accelerating toward widespread use. At the same time, we are exploring the potential of a wide range of power sources—including not only hydrogen, but also gasoline, diesel, electricity and alternative fuels—while considering what the optimum eco-car would be for the energy situation, infrastructure and regulations in each country.

Some children from a local elementary school also got a sneak peak at the car.

The concept vehicle in the animation is a human-electric hybrid. You power the generator and the electric motor drives the vehicle. You can also drive it as an electric vehicle if you don’t want to or are unable to pedal your self.
This is my entry in the Innovate or Die contest http://www.innovate-or-die.com/ with just a couple of changes made. It took me about 40 hours non-stop to do this animation and I registered 8 minutes before the deadline. 
I did the whole narration voice with Expressivo software. Worked really well, except a couple of words like ‘gigawatts’. My guess is that most people will not even notice it’s a synthesized voice.
