The “DJANGO” vehicle is one of the results of an innovation exercise called JAZZENGINEERING (www.jazzengineering.org) that I created for high school age apprentices who have worked for me after school during the last 4 years. The main concept is to combine a traditional electric drive consisting of a main battery bank, motor controller, electric motor and chain drive with an accessory electric pedal powered generator. The adjustable work load of the pedals can charge the main motor battery or the accessory battery. They can also control the speed of the vehicle.
This is my entry in the Innovate or Die contest. The concept vehicle in the animation is a human-electric hybrid. You power the generator and the electric motor drives the vehicle.
I found out about the competition 5 days ago and did some serious work over the weekend so there are quite a few things I would like to change I will try to upload a fixed version later on.
