How much will it cost in gas for an SUV hybrid to go from Indianapolis to Atlanta?

Huh? Is this a True or False Question. I’ll answer TRUE…. About the same cost as going from Atlanta to Indianapolis.

More info is needed other than from here to there!

Do you know how many mpg that the SUV (what kind / what year) gets.

Find out how many miles the trip is: www.mapquest.com

Trip distance divided by miles per gallon times the average cost of fuel

Unless you’re staying there, maybe you should consider the cost of returning home.

    What kind of mileage are you getting? If you’re getting twenty mpg and the distance is eight hundred miles, you’ll burn forty gallons of gas. At three dollars a gallon, that’s a hundred and twenty dollars (each way, assuming a round-trip). That’s only an example, of course; if your actual mileage is higher or lower and the distance is different, just plug in your own figures and do the math. Good luck!

    Indianapolis to Atlanta is 534 miles

    you didn’t say which SUV, and as they vary;

    For new suv hyrids, MPG ranged from 29 to 34
    assuming $3 per gallon gas (national average is $3+);

    so 534/29 = 18.4 MPG = $55.20
    or best case scenario;
    534/34 = 15.7 MPG = $47.11

    It depends which SUV hybrid. If you have a good one like the Ford Escape hybrid, it will get around 30 mpg. If you have a big fat one like the Chevy Tahoe hybrid, it might only get 20 mpg.

    The distance from Indianapolis to Atlanta is 533 miles. If you’re getting 30 mpg, that’s 17.77 gallons of gas. If gas costs $3.30 per gallon, it will cost $58.63. If you’re only getting 20 mpg, it will cost about $88.

    To calculate it yourself, find out the SUV’s mileage (call that M) and how much gas costs in your general area (call that G).

    Cost = (533/M) * G
