battery replacement is not only costly it is not good for the environment. more parts-more problems.

They initially cost more and if gasoline remains inexpensive it will take a long time to recoup the cost. If something goes wrong they charge you premium prices for parts. It’s difficult if not impossible to work on yourself. Usually have to buy japanese.
As for speed, they’re not fast, but not slow either. My friend and I got his mom’s prius to 110 in a reasonable time frame. And the thing about batteries is from a report by an organization called CNW, an automotive marketing research firm (ie: extremely biased).
