how can we move on … how can we move on into the future if we live in the past? if it were up to some of you we’d still be driving cars with 1980’s technology plus some of the advanced cars are cheaper in some cases
All these car … All these car makers with their electric and zero emission POS cars. Everybody knows that americans will never get rid of their heavy 5+ liter v8 american muscle and pickup trucks!
i can’t see subaru … i can’t see subaru honestly trying to produce something like this. they have always been a bit of a quarky outsider in the market and i think it’d be a bit conformist to go making something like this. plus the market is already getting more and more saturated with hybrid electrics, that you’d really have to come out with some evolutionary to command a big enough piece of the market to even justify the R&D on this. just gimme a diesel.
But all these … But all these people driving SUVs mostly women who wanted to be end with the trend went out and bought a Hybrid mostly a Prius. That’s certainly the case with EVERY hybrid owner I know. Plus companies get government support for that.
The only real solution I see is either hydrogen or the Nissan leaf 100 mile range and they lease the batteries for the price of fuel. So instead of the car being almost worthless because it needs those expensive batteries replaced you goto Nissan and exchange.
I mean the Volkswagen polo already does 70mpg so why not make it hybrid as well.
But lets face it hybrid was a gimmick to begin with. First off the Eco sedan really wasn’t that far off the Prius in MPG but cost half is much so Toyota quit it. The Carbon produced by making the batteries is worse than driving a H2 for 10 years and the batteries last only 7-10 years and could last less if the car isn’t driven the right amount. Hybrids loose handling b/c weight. and loose room.
Half the new cars … Half the new cars sold in Europe are diesel. Thats a big market. The diesel sold there is high quality and the deisels are designed for it. Diesel cars are not that popular in the US except in larger vehicles like trucks and suvs. The diesel sold is also low quality due to the age of the refineries so it is expensive for a car maker to modify their lastest eco engine to run on such fuel. So yes, hybrids come in all flavours but are subject to market demand.

why do Hybrids, gas …
why do Hybrids, gas and electric cars have to look so different! but i like the design concept, the interior fits well.
